Block Printing with Megan and Diego

Megan and Diego will take you through the full printing process, learning how to rewire our brains to see light and objects in the inverse and create art that both challenges and augments our vision of reality. In this short course, we aim to teach not only the fundamentals of learning how to see the negative space, applying drawing to linoleum, and the techniques of carving, but also the history of printmaking as resistance and resilience across the world. We will divide our time between seeing the negative space, drawing in reverse and inverse, transferring drawing to linoleum, carving techniques, and finally leaving the session with a print, or a few, to take home. Participants are encouraged to bring small items (such as flowers, knickknacks, etc) or photos as inspiration and practice.
