Artist Statement:
I’ve always had a deep love for nature, and I’ll never stop being awestruck by it, experiencing its sublimity, and learning from it. After falling in love with Moab after my first visit in 2020, I decided it would be the perfect place to join a great community of artists. My mission as a nature and landscape photographer is to share the wonder of our planet, to always continue learning and pushing myself to become the best I can be, and to educate and help others. In doing so I hope to encourage people to connect with nature in new ways, and inspire them to follow their dreams, whatever they may be.
These moon photos are not composites or Photoshop works, but single shots. Viewers often ask, “How’s the moon so big!?”. The trick is actually not about the size of the moon, because we can’t change that. It’s about changing the apparent size of what’s on the ground, and we do that by moving farther away. The farther away you move from a person, for example, the smaller they appear, so therefore the moon appears larger only by comparison.
