My journey with fused glass began at an arts festival in Tennessee, where I first experienced the breathtaking work of Loretta Eby. Intrigued and inspired, I jumped at the chance to study with her at her Hot Glass studio in Georgia. At the time, I was a Utah native living in Nashville, longing for the landscapes of home. Working with glass became a way to channel that longing into art, allowing me to recreate the buttes, bridges, animals, and plants of the Red Rock Desert that I love so much.

The process begins with large sheets of stained glass. I cut these into manageable pieces and then guide them through a water-cooled diamond blade band saw to make intricate, precise cuts. The shapes are then kiln-fired at around 1400 degrees, often in multiple firings, to achieve the desired depth and texture. For my wall pieces, I display the glossy, vibrant glass on textured matte board, evoking the sandstone of the desert.

Beyond wall art, I craft picture frames, bowls, mirrors, sculptures, and jewelry in a variety of motifs. Each piece is an homage to the natural beauty of the desert and a testament to the transformative power of glass. Custom orders are always welcome—I love bringing clients’ unique visions to life.
