LIZZIE JONES

Coming Soon! Feb 24 thru March 28!

Artist Bio

"I have been painting professionally since 2017 alongside my student career. I have no formal
training as an artist although I have been creating since my earliest memories. I have been told
my whole life that being an artist is not a “real” job, and my mission has been to prove that
wrong.

While I love painting as a profession and feel incredibly grateful to have generated a lifestyle as an artist; I am equally as passionate about philosophy and academics. I have found in recent years that the two bleed into one another and I am able to conjure imagery that is inspired by my studies.

As a student my focus centers itself within contemplating universal origin theories, spiritual and religious beliefs, existential paradoxes, theories of knowledge and interpretations of modern physics.

I have lived in Moab for the last three and a half years and continue to attend school remotely. I hope to further my work in both philosophy and visual arts to offer material glimpses into the immaterial world."

OPENING RECEPTION
Friday, March 7, 2025
6:00-8:00 p.m.
Free & open to the public.

About the Work

"The permeating influence beneath my work emanates from my background in philosophy. I am a lifelong student of existential curiosity, plunging my studies into the depths of the human experience. The aim of my work as a philosopher and artist is to unify the philosophies of western thought and the spiritual concepts of eastern Buddhism.

My paintings are a creative expression capturing the underlying mechanics of reality through geometrical and fractalized design. I attempt to convey a monistic view of our world in capturing the symbioses of humanity and nature. My work touches on the organized chaos of patterns and the personifications of life and death through human expression.

I invite the viewers of my work to participate in the development of their own interpretations as each piece is layered multidimensionally in concept."
